Day 4
After the older girls left for school, grandma and grandpa headed off to Bass Pro. We are not the fishing, hunting or camping type but we have found that the store is great entertainment for grandchildren. We try out the atv's, crank the steering wheels on the big boats, check out the fish tank, crawl inside of a tent, gaze at the large, furry animals and then head to the very large aquarium. There is a diver who feeds the stingrays twice a day and a real live mermaid visits as well.
Reese and four wheels.

Then a stop at McDonald's for lunch before going home.
Ashlyn and Ellie return home from school at 2:30, so we have to hurry home.
After school, Ellie attended her gymnastics class.
Yea! She made it all the way to the top of the rope.

Day 5
A busy day for Ashlyn. After school she had a piano lesson, then attended Activity Days with other girls her age from her Church. Then grandpa took her to her ballet class.

Day 6
We were hoping for a quiet day after such a busy week. We met a friend at Cafe Rio and Reese ordered her usual cheese quesadilla. We were glad that the kids just wanted to play in the neighborhood when they got home from school.
This is where Ashlyn and Ellie attend school. It is close enough to walk.
They are called the Aviators.
The playground has canvas canopies that shade them from the hot sun.
This is where they attend church.

No one told me that there was a live crayfish living in Ashlyn's bedroom.
She eats cat food, which Ashlyn gets from a neighbor.
She has to have her water changed which Ashlyn does in the bathroom.
I said, "You mean the bathroom that I have been using?"
I did know about the resident turtle.
His name is "turtle" and he hibernates during the winter months.
Otherwise, he is outside, hiding under rocks and bushes.
I wanted to know why he wasn't outside since the weather
was so nice. Why does he have to be in the laundry room -- that I use?
Actually, he never moved all week or make a noise.
So, at dinner I asked the kids if they had any other pets or creepy crawly things lurking in the house that I didn't know about!

Day 7
I thought you were supposed to sleep in on Saturdays? Everyone was up early and getting ready to go to Reese's soccer game.
a strategy session
Her team is called the Petite Peanuts and they are all three.
Have you ever coached three-year-olds?

Notice how clean her uniform is?

We all worked up an appetite -- hauling chairs, water bottles, cameras and sports equipment. So we headed to In-N-Out for a yummy cheeseburger. They don't have any of these where we live, so we made sure to put it on our list of things to do while in Las Vegas.
It is time for us to return to Salt Lake City. We have had a wonderful week. The sitter is going to take over until Jason and Katherine get home from their trip. We have wash to do, suitcases to re-pack and we'll be leaving for Singapore on Monday. Stay tuned.
